Song of the Week: Los Feeling

This song has been on repeat on my iPod.

Sweet vocals and a great beat. I might have been humming along with it a bit too loudly. My apologies to the people I’ve sat next to on the trains.

“Have you had enough?
Oh, did I say too much?
Have you had enough?
Oh, have you lost that feeling?
Have you lost that feeling now?”

Song of the Week: Baby it’s Cold Outside

The countdown to Christmas has begun! And I thought this is a good song to keep you sane while doing your shopping.

Zooey Deschanel’s voice is amazing! Rich and soothing with an old world charm. And the movie Elf, where the clips are taken is adorable.

Song of the Week: Movement 5

A cool and relaxed sound with enough beat to match the kind of weather we’ve experienced this week. The song puts me in my favorite lounge… mmm I can almost taste the vodka.

I just discovered Mighty Mouse this week but they’ve dished out some pretty awesome mixtapes since 2009. Have a listen on their website - http://www.wearemightymouse.com/

Movement 5 is part of the band’s new album entitled Song With No Word. It will be released December 6, 2010.

Song of the Week: We No Speak Americano

Friday is always the happiest day of the week for everyone. And I have double cause for celebration because it marks the end of both my work and school week. Yay!

Yes, school officially started this week! Last week was a wonderful and stress free introduction to BCIT’s world of Share in – Share out. This week on the other hand was crammed with learning design-speak and abbreviations like RGB and CMYK. I would have tried finding a song with “It’s all Greek to me” in the title but I thought “We No Speak Americano” is a better lyrical choice.

The song is a remix with the original done by Renato Carosone in 1956. The current version is from Australian duo Yolanda Be Cool and DCUP. It peaked at 16 in the Canadian Hot 100 charts.

Song of the Week: Yellow Submarine

Born October 9, 1940, tomorrow is John Lennon’s 70th birthday anniversary.

As we live a life of ease (life of ease)
Every one of us (every one of us) has all we need, (has all we need)
Sky of blue, (sky of blue) and sea green, (sea of green)
In our yellow (In our yellow) submarine. (submarine) ( Haha! )
